Lockheed Martin Contracts Negotiator in Stratford, Connecticut

The incumbent shall be responsible for performing Contract Administration duties associated with United States Government (USG) Customers and Customers operating under USG Prime Contracts including but not limited to: Managing all aspects of contract administration support, including proposals, negotiations, contract administration and contract closeout for USG Spares.  Prepare and negotiate terms and conditions with USG customers to eliminate/minimize financial and legal risks, and increase revenue and cash flow.  Ensure timely and accurate processing and review of customer orders in a fast paced and high volume setting.  Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.  Provide training to less experienced Contract Administrators.Additional duties include interfacing with Operations, Program Management, Finance, Pricing and other functions with regards to contract and customer requirements. The candidate will be expected to take a lead role for the Contracts function for their assigned customers, and serve as a subject matter expert for contractual matters with internal and external customers.  Promote an ethics-based business culture in his/her scope of responsibility to ensure full compliance with UTC’s “Code of Ethics,” the “Policy Statement on Business Ethics and Conduct in Contracting with the U.S. Government,” and related policies. Participate / Lead Government Contracts/Contracts and Counsel "Achieving Competitive Excellence" (ACE) initiatives

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

Desired skills Experience in Government contract administration/ negotiation required, as well as knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations and agency supplements. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and strong organizational / leadership skills. Microsoft Office Skills are required.
