Lockheed Martin Program Manager - International Military in Stratford, Connecticut

Responsibilities include:

Ensure program meets cost, schedule, and technical requirements of development, production, test, customer acceptance, delivery, and support efforts.

Provide leadership to a Program Management Team (PMT) consisting of Engineering, Finance, ITC, Contracts, Operations and Aftermarket.

Develop strong working relationships with customer counterparts, major suppliers, Sikorsky Aircraft leadership team and team members to ensure program success.

Engage Program Planning & Control, Financial Control, and functional leads to actively manage all earned value efforts according to Sikorsky EVMS procedures, lead monthly EV analysis and reporting, and provide EV metrics visibility to International Programs and Executive management.

Develop and actively manage program efforts to mitigate risks and realize opportunities in support of contract execution.

Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences, including the customer.

Report status of key projects on a regular basis to both the International Programs and Executive management. Resolve internal management issues and escalate as needed.

Track and manage activities to full compliance of all ITC guidelines and requirements.

Basic Qualifications Must be a US citizen.

Experience in Program Management and/or Engineering with financial control and earned value experience required.

Experience working with Operations final assembly, completions and hangar ops is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Strong team building skills required.

Desired skills The ideal candidate must have the ability to interface with and present to all levels of senior management and external suppliers/customers and operate in a matrix organization.

Solid appreciation of the importance of integrated master plans (IMP) and master schedules (IMS). Able to utilize enterprise scheduling tools to manage all projects/programs. Able to formulate and execute recovery plans as required.

Experience working with Operations final assembly, completions and hangar ops is preferred.

Knowledge of Risk Management tools and implementation. Understands the value of identifying and managing program risks; formulates risk burn down plans and ensures incorporation into project/program plans and schedules; utilizes risk tools to manage projects/programs.

International program familiarity and experience with customer acceptance and delivery preferred.

BA/BS degree in Engineering, technical, business or related field with 8-10+ years’ experience required.

MA/MS/MBA Preferred.

Project Management Institute Certification and experience with COS, SAP, Primavera and Winsight preferred.

20% travel required with this position.
