Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Sr in Suffolk, Virginia
The selected candidate will be part of an engineering team responsible for the technical planning, deployment, integration, and enhancement of resident and distributed simulation systems/capabilities at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation (Lighthouse) located in Suffolk, VA. Specifically, the candidate will be focused on integrating and leveraging new capabilities into the modeling & simulation, experimentation and demonstration infrastructure to expand, enhance and maintain an advanced lab environment. Assignments associated with distributed simulation, and include such areas as computer generated forces, application-level networking techniques, federating disparate simulators and simulation systems, managing terrain and visualization correlation issues, collecting data and providing for its data mining, managing and planning for system and network performance loading. The candidate must be able to work independently, engage subject matter experts when required and ultimately be results focused.
Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
The selected candidate must have System Engineering experience in a cross-platform environment and possess strong networking skills and experience. Experience with systems software/hardware configuration, modification and integration as well as good technical, analytical, communication skills.
Must have a final Secret security clearance.
Desired skills The ideal candidate will have previous experience with virtual, constructive or augmented-reality simulation systems, simulation terrains, semi-automated forces or Human-in-the-loop experimentation. Demonstrated experience with integration and development/modification of simulation software is desired. Experienced in Object-Oriented Design/Development and Computer Generated Forces. Previous experience in COTS software integration and Prepar3D is also desired. Visuals, image-generation and other M&S hardware is a plus.
