Lockheed Martin GNC Design, Analysis and Integration Senior Manager in Sunnyvale, California
Seeking a strong thought leader to lead and manage a world class Guidance Navigation and Control Product Line and Technology Development Organization and to manage a Functional department of matrixed employees in this discipline. This leader will shape the future, leading a team focused on standard GNC products, technologies, processes, LOB (Line of Business)support and advancing Enterprise and Engineering Strategic Threads. This position will oversee and own design authority for all standard Guidance, Navigation and Control Products, as well as being responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of the LOB/Program design baselines, incorporation of best practices, model based engineering and common design. This position will set the overall strategy for Space Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control products for both Missile and Space Systems. Primary Responsibilities: - Responsibilities will include planning and management of engineering critical skills to support LOB/program and enterprise technical needs. - Oversight to the development and insertion of Common/Standard Products including BOEs for new Product line programs - Owning the Design Authority for all Standard SSC Guidance, Navigation and Control products and supporting tools - Driving and executing active knowledge sharing through career planning and technical knowledge management, ensuring technical domain expertise of the entire team, - Driving process and tool development and deployment, resolving critical technical issues, supporting new business initiatives, and ensuring standard technical processes are in use on programs - Manage staffing requirements, planning job assignments and rotations, and manage staff assessment - Collaborating to develop our Guidance, Navigation and Controls Roadmap and supporting our IRAD investment strategy. - Supporting proposals, Red Teams and INARs as required. - Ensuring compliance with command media and dissemination of lessons learned for mission success. - The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills for Guidance, Navigation and Control with a focus on Mission Success. - Willingness to go on special assignment to solve an LOB problem; either to work on IRTs, task forces or to lead them. - Some travel (10%) will be expected.

Basic Qualifications - Minimum BS degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline - 15 years overall related technical experience. - Minimum 3 years' experience with Spacecraft or Missile Guidance, Navigation and Control. - Domain knowledge of the design and development of Guidance, Navigation and Control - Experience with Model Based Design and Development - Experience with Guidance, Navigation and Control planning and execution for the design, development, implementation, verification and testing algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles or upper stages for a mid-size to large program. - Experience with cost account management principles, techniques, and processes, minimum 1 year experience in either a CAM position, or a role with similar experience. - Experience leading a diverse team showcasing strong team building, relationship building, and personal acumen - Successful candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 3 years Full Spectrum Leadership or equivalent experience including a commitment to the Full Spectrum attributes of shaping the future, building effective relationships, energizing the team, delivering results, and modeling personal excellence, integrity and accountability.
Desired skills - Experience in both Spacecraft and Missile Guidance, Navigation and Controls - Experience in leading teams through cultural and geographical boundaries as well as operations across multiple lines of business. - Demonstrated experience leading cultural transformation - Strong Mentoring skills as evidenced through active mentoring relationships - Demonstrated knowledge in Model Based Design and the use of the CoreSim Framework and it's application in Guidance, Navigation and Control - Cross LM Business Unit and/or other Industry experience - Experience driving standardization of standard products and Tools - Proven experience as a conceptual thinker with the ability to translate into action and results. - Active Security clearance, with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance
