Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer in Sunnyvale, California
This position supports Mechanical Manufacturing Center operations in that Solar Array, Mechanisms, and Composites manufacturing centers in Sunnyvale, CA. -Perform various duties including creating and/or developing mechanical manufacturing processes; assist in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight and cost; assist with evaluating designs/processes; developing and maintaining all assembly documentation; trouble shooting/correcting anomalies and discrepant hardware; work with others to establish development, verification, and qualification test requirements, implement the test program, and evaluate the results.
-Provide floor support for a mechanical manufacturing environment that includes solar array, mechanism, and composite manufacturing facilities. Interface with program personnel and report project status to program leadership.
Basic Qualifications -Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing and mechanical assembly / processes. -Familiarity with mechanical engineering drawings and bill of materials. -Familiarity with composite design, autoclave and oven operation. -Familiar with GD&T. -Must be able to work in a team environment with good organizational / communication skills.
Desired skills -Knowledge of electronics, mechatronics, and/or composite design principles. -Knowledge of CNC and conventional machining and machine shop theory. -Knowledge of CAD/CAM software packages such as I-DEAS, Creo (Pro-E), and Mastercam. -Knowledge of SAP and VE CAMS software.
