Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Senior in Sunnyvale, California
Candidate shall be responsible for leading a team of engineers to design and build solar arrays. Tasks include performing solid modeling using ProE/CREO design tool and producing associated drawings to build/procure required hardware. Candidate shall develop and maintain product designs and/or specifications associated with hardware. Candidate shall review requirements from various sources (dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the product. Candidate shall be able to effectively interact with engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers and drive the team to deliver hardware that meets requirements within applicable cost and schedule constraints. Candidate shall be able to resolve any discrepancies that occur at the supplier or on the shop floor. Candidate shall be the single point of contact between team and program management/customers.
Basic Qualifications Knowledge of composite structure design and/or production. Knowledge of mechanical design and/or production. Knowledge and familiarity of spacecraft design and hardware delivery requirements. Experience working with outside suppliers and/or production floors. Experience and ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams. Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance which requires US Citizenship
Desired skills Excellent communication skills. Excellent closure skills. Demonstrated organizational skills. Experience designing solar arrays. Experience working with manufacturing and/or outside suppliers. 2 years minimum of structural design, fabrication, and/or testing experience. 2 years minimum ProE/CREO experience/familiarity. 2 years minimum experience with releasing drawings in EPDM. Current DOD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain). Current SCI clearance (or ability to obtain). Cost account manager experience. Team lead experience.
