Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Sr in Sunnyvale, California

Provide systems engineering integration support to Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) mechanical subsystems through the integration, test, and launch operation phases. Lead failure investigations, Failure Review Boards (FRB) s and anomaly resolution in a real-time test environment. Provide directions on special tests directed by failure review boards. Review and approve related Production documentation and test results. Review test data, inspect mechanical assemblies and participate in critical mechanical operations on the test floor. Verify compliance to requirements or report signs of anomaly. Present data to customer for buy-off as required. Maintain test requirements documents. Review and approve test procedures and process instructions based on those requirements. Prepare test reports, requirements verification engineering memos, and other technical reports. Support Certified Principal Engineers (CPE)s in certification of the spacecraft. Act as CPE delegate for mechanical subsystems, and structure subsystem, on AEHF space vehicle.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership ability in integrated product team environment Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering functional/program management and other functional disciplines, including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, ATLO, electronics, systems engineering, etc. Hands-on experience with hardware design, manufacture, test and integration Proficient with CAD modeling, drafting, Bills of Material and product data management Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and documentation (ie SAP, Q-notes, test procedures, etc.) Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Desired skills

Active SECRET security clearance, or ability to obtain SECRET security clearance. Proficient with Creo CAM certified with program experience MRB certified with program hardware experience CPE delegate training completed Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications/tools/procedures Knowledge of composite structure design and fabrication Experience with spacecraft hardware testing, planning and execution Experience performing mechanical systems level spacecraft integration Experience with reduced-dimension drawings, using CAD model as record of authority (including Data Set Rating 4 and 6)
