Lockheed Martin Software Engineer Staff in Sunnyvale, California

This position supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This position supports the AVE IPT Avionics Team acting as Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) software requirements engineer, responsible for developing of GBSD GNC and FSW requirements and design descriptions. Responsibilities include GNC architecture and design definition, FSW design description, algorithm/software requirements definition, and support to TMRR sensor risk reduction testing. Demonstrated experience with GNC/FSW architectures and deployment in missile, spacecraft, or avionics application is highly desired. The candidate must function well in a creative, high-tempo, collaborative, cross-functional, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment. This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR contract award.

Basic Qualifications - Requires a BS degree and/or MS degree combined with experience and specialized training commensurate with the position. Must have applicable experience in GNC, with broad technical skills and development experience throughout a program life cycle. Demonstrated ability to develop Missile GNC and FSW architectures

  • Demonstrated experience in the requirements generation, design, integration, qualification, verification, and validation of GNC and FSW for missile, spacecraft, or aircraft avionics applications.

  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.

  • Ability to obtain DOD Secret

  • Ability to support occasional business travel.
