Lockheed Martin Chief of Test in Trumbull, Connecticut
The candidate will be directly involved in the management and tracking of Flight and Ground test activities related to commercial product line aircraft. Scope includes work with design and test functional organizations to establish requirements, direct management and support of proposal preparation; technical support of tests at Sikorsky or other test facilities; and budget/schedule responsibilities associated with these test activities. Ensure clear and regular communication between the Test Engineering Team and the internal/external customer. Candidate must be willing to take ownership of a project to ensure Statement of Work compliance while also ensuring compliance with safety practices and company policies. Candidate must be flexible and willing to travel domestically as necessary to support customer and program requirements (approximately 20% of the time).
Basic Qualifications B.S. (required) or M.S. (preferred) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Sciences. An MBA or other business background is a plus.
The job involves significant teamwork and coordination in a variety of engineering disciplines and customer representatives. Good interpersonal skills are imperative. Personal flexibility is also required to occasionally support unusual working hours and travel.
Desired skills Minimum of 10 years experience in Aerospace Engineering disciplines (rotorcraft test experience preferred). Thorough understanding of project management and EVMS required. Candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to support substantial customer interface needs. Familiarity with rotorcraft flight operations is desired. Skills in analytical thinking and problem solving are also required. Familiarity with avionics systems design and avionics test is a plus.
