Lockheed Martin Software Engineer Sr in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Directly supports FBM Support Equipment Products in the design and development of electronic Automated Test Equipment. Investigate and resolve issues with the hardware and/or software associated with Automated Test Equipment used for missile subsystems and component test and qualification. Performs software product development across all phases of the software engineering life-cycle according to FBM and Lockheed Martin process and procedures. This is to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis and design, code and unit test, integration, and support of formal test / delivery of the product. Utilize Model Based and Use Case Design approaches and Test Driven Development. Support development of complex system internal and external software interfaces. Position requires strong organizational and communication skills working within, or leading teams of approximately 6 engineers and software developers. These teams perform software analysis, design, development, verification, configuration management and test of deliverable software products. This position requires the ability to interact, plan, and coordinate between Support Equipment Products Engineering and the production facility where this equipment is located and the personnel who operate and manage it. Directly engages with the Support Equipment Products management team and FBM Program leadership in the coordination and prioritization of software product development/implementation tasks. Ensures formal product development is performed to support key program events such as systems requirements reviews (SRR), preliminary design (PDR), critical design (CDR), development testing, Software Qualification Testing (SQT), production package testing, system performance reviews and formal delivery/government accreditation. Specific job functions include: - Maintain team focus and cohesiveness in work environment where personnel, equipment, customers and management are geographically distributed between multiple states. - Performs validation of software and test hardware - Participate in technical reviews/audits of software products. Perform documentation changes and maintenance in accordance with established engineering procedures.

Ability to travel and work at alternate work sites 25%, on average.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with Computer Science or Computer Engineering studies and 5 years of professional experience or 3 years of professional experience with an equivalent Masters Degree.

Experience programming in JAVA, C, C++, or C#;

Operating Systems (OS) background to include Sun Solaris or Linux, Windows.

Experience in the development of software used in electronic Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.

Experience with Software Engineering processes across the entire software development life-cycle.

Desired skills Demonstrate a solid understanding of Software Engineering processes across the entire software development life-cycle.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation.

Demonstrated experience developing complex systems software using open source collaborative computer operating systems in a team environment.

Object Oriented Methodologies and Unified Modeling Language (UML) Modeling Techniques.

Experience using software configuration management tools.
