This position is for an experienced F-35 Field Support Engineer(FSE) that will be based out of the F-35 Sustainment Operations Center (OC) in Fort Worth and travel in support of all F-35 sites. While in Fort Worth, this person will provide F-35 Air Vehicle Expertise within the OC and assist in the training of newly hired FSEs on the Fort Worth Production and Flight Lines. When deployed to an F-35 site, this FSE position will short term support for unavailable permanently assigned FSEs, initial site stand-up efforts and/or Modification and Retrofit work being accomplished at these sites.

The successful candidate will act as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company’s (LM Aero) technical interface to the on-site Customer (both Operations and Maintenance) in resolving issues arising from maintenance and or modification activities for all matters dealing with the F-35 aircraft. Accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of AVS / Mission Systems difficulties experienced in the field. Attend debriefings, as required to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues that would require company intervention to avoid aircraft downtime. Fully and completely document all unusual operational / maintenance problems, even if they are resolved on-site, to ensure that the company is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends. Initiate Action Requests (ARs). Identifying unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve. Provide on-site assistance to company and Customer personnel initiating ARs. Provide training, when requested, to Customer personnel. Candidate must have comprehensive AVS/Mission Systems background. Previous Field Service experience with fighter operations is preferred. Must be able to work with and interact with the maintainer community as well as the professional engineers from other F-35 companies as a peer. Some travel may be required. Candidates must be willing and able to deploy with Customer personnel to hazardous duty location. US Department of Defense (DoD) mandated vaccinations may be required. Applicant must be able to work and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant and continued interface with customer personnel at all levels. Maintain open lines of communication to provide proactive support and to advise and status problem reports and action requests. Provide support for the assigned site on aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations. Candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to establish and maintain a library of technical documentation. Direct on-site support as requested by customer, site manager or program management. Manage and track multiple engineering and logistics support activities, providing periodic status to Customer and Program Management. Prefer prior field and/or in-plant experience on military fighter aircraft and support equipment. Initial responsibilities will include the support of Production Operations during the manufacture of the test and production aircraft.

Must be willing to deploy, as required, on various short term assignments, work any shift, and some weekends.

Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

Significant F-35 Vehicle Systems and Mission Systems skills/experience.

Advanced Technical report writing capability.

Background in drawing/schematic reading/interpretation & fault isolation.

Able to perform problem analysis at the sysyem/subsystem level.

Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance and F-35 Program access.

Desired skills

Experience on the F-35 Production and Flight lines

Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license.

Well rounded fighter aircraft maintenance experience across both Mission Systems and Vehicle Systems.

F-22 Maintenance experience.

Hands-on experience in military system maintenance & repair.

Good knowledge of CATIA & System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE) will be helpful.
