Lockheed Martin PSEG Long Island Demand Management Project Engineer - Melville, NY in Melville, New York
The PSEG Long Island Demand Management Program (PSEG LI DMP) Project Engineer is a detail-oriented engineering position that reports to the Manger: Program Planning and Design. The Project Engineer will be responsible to ensure that the Custom and Prescriptive energy efficiency projects are evaluated and rebated within Lockheed Martin’s guidelines and procedures, in compliance with the LM/PSEG LI contract, and the PSEG LI DMP rules/guides. The Project Engineer will identify and research new technologies and savings methodologies, perform engineering analysis on existing projects, and meet or exceed monthly & annual goals. The Individual will ensure projects are processed in compliance with current industry standards and with PSEG Long Island’s demand management programs, screening requirements and tools. Responsibilities: •Detailed Engineering analysis of energy efficiency projects following program rules/guidelines/best practices •Conduct peer review and approve engineering projects •Complete assigned engineering tasks/activities in timely manner •Perform field engineering tasks, like energy audits, inspections, as required to evaluate project feasibility and quality control •Provide Technical support to the program team and be the subject matter expert for custom energy efficiency technologies oPresent complex engineering data/concepts to non-engineering team •Utilize building modeling software or simulation tools such as eQuest, EnergyPro, Trace 700, HAP to analyze and validate project energy savings •Identify and target potential energy saving measures for program planning and design, like thermal storage, HVAC load monitoring, control schemes for retail outlets, data center containment and consolidation, retro commissioning, controls, etc. •Review and estimate project costs for design, equipment, installation, labor, and materials to run cost benefit analysis •Screen key energy technologies/products for rebate eligibility. Historical examples include LED linear lamps, LED Down-lights, Retrofit Kits, VFDs, Data Center Containment equipment, Sensors, and Refrigeration multi-rack units •Coordinate with the client, contractor, customer, and project developer during the project approval and rebate payment process •May support the development and maintenance of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) program KPI scorecard as required •Set baselines for complex energy measures following industry standards/practices
Basic Qualifications •Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or related Engineering discipline •2+ years’ experience in utility energy efficiency and demand management programs •Engineering and project management experience •Experience with monitoring and verification of energy savings and ability to evaluate/inspect energy efficiency and distributed energy projects (lighting, HVAC, chillers, VFD, EMS, CHP) •Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically MS Excel and MS Dynamics •Experience in facets of Energy data analytics with knowledge of utility systems, facility load data, building automation systems/controls, smart grid, and demand response •Understanding of the NYS TRM, ASHRAE, codes/standards, best practices, etc •Advanced understanding of MS Excel
