Lockheed Martin QA Engineering Asc Mgr in Sunnyvale, California
Manage the development and execution of Quality Assurance (QA) Systems and QA Teams within Assembly Test Launch Operations (ATLO) and the Engineering Test Lab Services (ETLS) Organizations. Duties will include managing the QA functions and staff within the ATLO organization at the Sunnyvale site for all production operations areas. Responsible for using decision making skills to identify appropriate quality organization involvement in new and existing programs and technologies. Oversee the coordination of coverage between the ATLO Quality Organization and the Assembly Integration and Test (AI&T) group and other supporting test team efforts.To effectively drive utilization of the cross-talk process, and to implement effective processes, enterprise performance and operational excellence. Managerial duties include collaboration with LOBs/Programs, DCMA, as well as the Engineering, Program QA , Production, NDT, and Mission Success MFOs. Responsible to drive effective utilization of resources and the coordination between ATLO QA and ATLO Prod Ops Organizations to implement effective processes that are utilized across the enterprise. Responsible to ensure QA disciplines are maintained across ATLO Sunnyvale. Position will be responsible for maintaining positive QA support across all ATLO MilSpace and Commercial Space programs as well as the ETLS and ATLO EGSE Lab test support organizations. Additional tasking will involve supporting ATLO production operations as a floor QE when required.
Responsibilities of the selected candidate will include the following:
-Direct the ATLO QA team in all required aspects under the QA Managers lead for all AI&T operations including Launch Operations to complete the assigned mission. This will include the salaried and hourly work force.
-Audit, monitor, and witness test processes for compliance with requirements and keeping a watchful eye for risk opportunities
-Ability to lead/participate in gathering of QA Engineering metrics gathering and compiling for higher level review.
-Bring value to the team by promoting Operational Excellence through proactive engagement, attention to detail, process discipline, as well as applying real-time lessons learned and stopping (seek to understand) when something doesn’t seem right. Work with the teams to identify and implement solutions that will allow the team to move forward while meeting requirements (team player).
-Act as a POC/ Technical SME and leader for Quality Engineering issues when the Lead Quality Engineer and L5Manager is unavailable
-Communicate regularly with ATLS/ATLO counterparts, and proactively engage in issue resolution
-Participate in test failure/anomaly investigations and processing, MRB decisions, root cause analysis, and closed loop corrective action while identifying potential systemic causal relationships
-Ensure that strong QA shift pass-down notes are disseminated
-Promote personnel and product safety within the work areas
-Provide training to other Quality Assurance personnel as needed, and support the needs of Quality Inspectors on the floor
-Participate in document reviews (e.g. Test Procedure Adequacy Reviews, Peer Reviews, etc.), approvals, and conduct. Support TRRs, Pre-Test meetings, and task briefings, and AESOP Huddles
-Provide quality engineering bench strength and provide support to various areas in the Sunnyvale Production Quality Assurance (PQA) Organization as required
-Position requires a full commitment to support overtime, odd shifts (as required), launch base travel (as required) and On Call requirements as dictated by operational needs.
Basic Qualifications -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.). - Excellent communication skills verbal, presentation and written. - Ability to develop and present plans, reports and briefings for both written and oral presentations with executive management (ATLO and QA). -Must be able to successfully interface with executive leadership, customers, and various functional organizations. - Experience working high profile, complex projects from start to finish.
Desired skills -Proven leadership to drive change through affordability initiatives. -Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, Enterprise Operations and experience supporting/working multiple actions at once -Proven Experience working Flight Space Hardware -Proven ability to motivate and engage workforce at all levels. -Basic knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems. -Working knowledge of electronic systems (NCD) that effect QA systems. -Current or ability to acquire a SECRET COMSEC clearance. Current SCI Access clearance a plus -Quality Engineering experience (Integration and Test or Manufacturing and Production floor experience preferred)
-Demonstrated experience working in SAP Production Orders/VECAMS, Automation Framework (AF), and EPDM
-Material Review Board (MRB) experience. Current membership preferred
-Dealing with a government customer
-Knowledge and experience troubleshooting components and assemblies
-Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement
-Software background (especially associated with Special Test Equipment and Test Consoles) is a plus
