As the quality assurance engineering manager you will be responsible for ensuring Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) hardware built in-house and at suppliers meet program and enterprise quality requirements. You and your team will support program office, manufacturing and engineering with the integration of quality disciplines into their processes and monitor their effectiveness. As the quality assurance engineering manager you will oversee the activities, processes and products of two multiple functional QA groups supporting the US Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program at a Strategic Weapons Facility. You will work to Identify current and future QA requirements based on customer-specified production levels, and establish effective QA support to meet those requirements. You will also participate in program-wide and company-wide initiatives to ensure QA protocols are consistent and effective. Other duties of the quality assurance engineering manager are to communicates quality assurance data to customers and internal program review teams.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.
Experience with actionable metrics and strong analytical skills
Knowledgeable of Root Cause and Corrective Action Techniques
3 years prior coded leader experience or significant “lead” experience
Experience operating within a structured Quality System i.e. AS9100
Desired skills 5 years L-Coded leadership in Quality, Manufacturing or Test Program Quality Plan Development Experience forecasting, negotiating and monitoring budgets Experience developing supplier quality systems CPE experience Knowledge of FBM practices and processes. Black Belt Trained Prior experience with MRB, Test, Ordnance Production and GFE. Experience interacting with DCMA Corrective Action Board Leadership SAP/ERP experience, Statistical Process Control (SPC) Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Familiarization with Nondestructive Inspection methodologies
