Lockheed Martin General Manager, Trumbull O&R in Trumbull, Connecticut

The General Manager, Trumbull O&R will be responsible for leading all aspects of Trumbull O&R’s operations in support of delivering commercial Dynamic Component Overhauls & Repairs. The selected individual will oversee an employee population of 125 hourly and salaried employees (both direct and matrixed). Daily activities of the General Manager will insure that commercial Dynamic Component Overhaul & Repair delivery requirements are met in support of customer requirements and the Sikorsky financial plan, while developing and executing innovative strategies to achieve world class quality, safety and financial performance. Strategic responsibilities include, leading Trumbull O&R’s continuous improvement journey to achieve Operational Excellence, inclusive of all transformation initiatives, work transition efforts, as well as, leading the Product Cost Council and Inventory Council reduction efforts. The successful candidate will be able to work with various functional organizations across the company to ensure successful planning and execution of Trumbull O&R’s work, including but not limited to demand and asset planning, engineering, quality, finance, Program Operations, DSS, CSS, and GMSS program leadership. Direct reports of the General Manager include production management and shop floor supervision, material management, planning and control, production control, and warehousing. Indirect reports include ESH, quality, and engineering. This position reports directly to the General Manager Director, MRO Product Center.

Basic Qualifications Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Desired skills Essential Functions: 1. Experience running and/or working in an aerospace Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization. 2. Leads the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives in support of divisional (RMS) and business unit (Sikorsky) objectives. 3.Establishes financial targets for indirect costs, direct costs, capital, and inventory in support of divisional (RMS) and business unit (Sikorsky) commitments. Leads financial management of all activities to ensure critical financial objectives are met, often times crossing functional areas. 4.Strategically develops and executes work transition projects to balance best sourcing value, program off-sets, and expansion of international footprint to desired markets. 5.Represents the Center as prime internal and external contact with other business units, internal departments, with Lockheed Martin, Program leadership, and external customers, as required. 6.Leads diverse workforce of direct and matrix reporting employees, including management represented hourly employees, salaried managers & supervisor, professional analysts and engineers. 7.Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results. 8.Assists staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives. 9.Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards. 10.Manage and plan critical resources to ensure maximum productivity, cost control, and labor efficiency raw material usage, and indirect budget control to meet annual budgetary plan and overhead rate requirements. 11.Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. 12.Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results. 13.Hires, trains, develop and evaluate staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate. 14.Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards. 15.Develop capital equipment strategies and plans ensure technology advancement and product improvement. 16.Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports strategic initiatives. 17.Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving. 18.Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas. 19.Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts. 20.Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.). 21.Ensure AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management systems processes are established, implemented and maintained. 22.Initi
